A confidently sized Marriott outlet of nearly 400 rooms, on 11 floors, this was the hotel chain's first venture outside of America, opened in 1975 and still doing its thing. Features include the popular steak-friendly Midtown Grill and Sorel's Bar and Lounge, and a fitness area, but no longer a cigar lounge. Located across from the Leidseplein and very near the Rijksmuseum and other landmarks, while not necessarily super-close to any of the city's five gay zones. Then again, nothing in Amsterdam feels all that far away.

Great place!!!
I think that this is one of the best Hotel in Amsterdam, very good service, plus a good friend to our community.I can not wait to be back, great city, great Hotel, and great friendly people, what more do you want?
Great Central Location
Stayed here twice, 1st in 88 and again in Feb of 09, located in central square of Amsterdam across from the Leidseplein shopping and entertainment in the city centre. We were able to walk to everything, no cabs, not even the subway was necessary. Very comfortable rooms. Very much what one would expect of a Marriott and similar to American style rooms. The Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum were just 5 minutes away.
