A straightforward and not too pricey 218-room hotel taken over by the NH chain in 2009. Some of the rooms overlook the oh-so-gay Reguliersdwarsstraat below, with the Amstel just minutes around the corner, not to mention the Rembrandtplein. Originally built for the 1928 Summer Olympics, this once towered above all other structures in Holland. It spent much of the 20th century as an apartment complex. In April 2019, following a dormant period, the hotel reopened, refurbished and with a new name.
