Nestled among the already quaint Nine Streets shopping ghetto is this extra-precious and and pleasingly decorated Amsterdam institution, opened in 1963 as a salon de thé and given a new lease of life — with the addition of classic French pastries and chocolates — in 1991. A Dutch/Belgian enterprise, Pompadour features a tiny shop area, linked by a few steps up to an inviting little tearoom.
